WWG Turns 20 and Revolutionizes: The 2020 Anniversary and What Came After

In June 2020 WWG turned twenty: founded in 2000, the Milan-based software house celebrated the anniversary by changing its clothes, with a team expanded to professionals from different parts of the world, leaner internal processes and a completely redesigned website. This article is that announcement, kept with its date and updated in 2026 with a note on what happened in the six years since: the teams in Poland and Ukraine, the innovative SME status, the transformation into a benefit corporation and two new generations of the website.

TL;DR

  • In 2020 WWG celebrated twenty years of activity with a rebrand, a more international team, more agile processes and a new website.
  • Datamanager, the online editorial staff of Soiel International's Office Automation magazine and the you4Italy group covered the milestone.
  • From 2020 to today: Krakow office (2021), innovative SME registration (2021), registered trademark (2021), benefit corporation (2023), new website and SEO programme (2025–2026).
  • The full story and the current legal form are on the about page.

What was WWG celebrating in 2020?

Twenty years of software development, since 2000, and it celebrated them by revolutionising itself: we married the agile mentality, we were promoters of lean thinking, we embraced change in all its forms and we never stopped, we wrote at the time. For the anniversary we decided to make the celebrations more special by showing a side of us that was perhaps still partially hidden.

Three concrete changes: the team had expanded to professionals from different parts of the world, bringing new knowledge and international experience; internal work processes had been overhauled to make them more agile and streamlined; and the website had been redesigned from scratch, with a new layout and many pages dedicated to services, to inform clients and people looking for a unique working environment. The announcement of the new website came a few days earlier. Datamanager, the online editorial staff of Soiel International's Office Automation and the you4Italy group covered the anniversary; the press page collects the links.

What has happened from 2020 to today?

Much of what the 2020 announcement promised, new projects and new collaborations, took shape in structural choices. The table summarises the main milestones, each with the page that documents it.

The common thread is the one declared in 2020: change in order to stay useful to clients, with people at the centre and the agile method as the way of working. Today WWG works with teams across Italy, Poland and Ukraine and has written into its statute, as a benefit corporation, the common-benefit purposes that in 2020 were a choice.
