The Tourism, Territorial Marketing and Fashion Department of Regione Lombardia has approved the “fashiontech” call for tender, which provides over 10 million euros to finance research and development projects on environmental and social sustainability in the fashion world.
WWG - always sensitive and attentive to the issue of sustainability - wanted to commit itself, together with other important realities, to the realization of a very innovative project.

ChallengeWe want to show the consumers how much the purchase and prolonged and conscientious use of certified garments can actually have a positive impact on the environment.
The idea is to study and implement the prototype of a garment equipped with a talking TAG by borrowing the Block Chain technology and developing an application capable of reading the information reported on the TAG. The aim is to trace the origin of an item of clothing by describing each step in detail and bringing out the aspects of sustainability.
The heart of the project is to be able to trace the origin of a garment in a simple and immediate way through the use of technological devices, describing in detail each step concerning that garment and bringing out the aspects of sustainability.
SolutionP.E.A.S. (Product Education Accountability System) is an advanced system that will complement and enrich the already known blockchain technology to certify the entire production chain of a garment and show to consumers the actual environmental impact of using a garment.
Through this project, the historicity of the garment, from the cultivation of the raw material to all uses and re-uses following marketing, will be fully certified.
- Through a reward system, the responsible use of the consumers will also be rewarded, providing them with credits to spend in different ways.
- In this way, in addition to increasing loyalty and trust in the brand, the customers will be actively involved in a process of conscious change of their habits from a green perspective.
- We will educate consumers in sustainable and informed choices.
